Golf Clubs in Baton Rouge
Baton Rouge is ranked the top golf destination in Louisiana, and while it is home to two award-winning private clubs, public-play options are also available. Typical of Louisiana golf, Baton Rouge courses are often set in or near wetlands and have mature landscape. Baton Rouge, the state capital and about 90 minutes west of New Orleans, is a cultural and political hub and home to Louisiana State University.
Built in 1926 and designed by Tom Bendelow, City Park Golf Course is one of 20 courses in the country to be placed on the national register of historic places as the community’s first municipal golf course.
Tee times are required on weekends and holidays. Call on Wednesday beginning at 7:00 am prior to the weekend or holiday.
The most popular of BREC's courses, is an 18-hole course that measures 6,656 yards in length. Large oak trees line the fairways of this golf course that is ideally situated off of College Drive.
